i couldn’t be happier about our new video. it’s for “multiply”, the most personal song on “starfruit”, and i got to work with 9 brilliant people who were willing to be so authentic, emotionally exposed, and empathic on camera. michael oppenheim (heretofore known for his photographs, e.g., the one of the band on the right) makes a triumphant foray into video, and i got to learn a whole bunch about directing and editing. we did the whole thing in an afternoon in our basement, having each actor sit inside a big white box i made with a lot of white duct tape. their assignment was to sing along and to be genuine to whatever emotion came up. we had tears, silence, laughter, vulnerability. thanks to everyone who made this experience happen, and to blurt magazine for helping us release it to the world.
